Van Gogh: Almond Blossom

Almond Blossoms was a gift from Vincent Van Gogh to his brother Theo, painted to mark the birth of Theo's son. Van Gogh chose an almond tree as a symbol of this new life, since almond trees bloom early and announce the coming of spring.
