Níjar (PRE-ORDER)

Bathed by the clear waters of Cabo de Gata and the white light of Andalusia, Níjar is a small town in Almería whose pottery tradition dates back to the Bronze Age. Níjar takes you to the 1920s, long before the tourist boom, when the local economy turned on ceramics, esparto weaving and the making of jarapas, the colourful textiles that remain a symbol of the region today.

Each player runs a pottery workshop, adding new wheels to produce more pieces. Extract clay, throw pots, fire them, paint them and sell your creations at the market. Over three rounds, with fewer action discs available each round, you place craftswomen on action spaces, always one more than are already there, bumping the previous occupants back to their owners and picking up bonus rewards depending on where you play. Discard one of your endgame scoring cards to take an action of your choice, sell fired pieces for victory points, or close your shop for the round and take a bonus. Transform clay into art and your workshop into the soul of Níjar.
