Galileo's Truth (PRE-ORDER)

The year is 1610 and the world stands on the edge of a new age. Copernicus's radical theory has found its champion in Galileo Galilei, whose observations of the heavens threaten to overturn everything the academies hold true. You are a scholar in this age of intellectual ferment, drawn into the exhilarating and perilous pursuit of knowledge – and the Inquisition is watching.

From the designers of Grand Austria Hotel, Lorenzo il Magnifico and Coimbra, Galileo's Truth combines worker placement, deck-building and tile placement into a single tightly wound engine. Write groundbreaking treatises drawn from a shared library of Astronomy, Mathematics, Physics and Philosophy, devise ingenious inventions and turn your telescope skyward, placing observation tiles on your own double-layered board. Every bold move – and every step ahead on the score track – raises the Inquisition's suspicion, clogging your deck with Penance cards and threatening to jail your only worker or worse.

Sooner or later each scholar must make an irreversible choice between the Copernican and Ptolemaic principles, which changes how your cards work and how you score. A full solo mode pits you against an automated Zealous Inquisitor across three difficulty levels.
